👁️ Imperius Curse
Imperio is the Imperius Curse, one of the three Unforgivable Curses, which places the victim under complete control of the caster.
🎭 Effects
- Victim loses free will
- Follows all commands without question
- Feels wonderful sense of floating/freedom
- No memory of actions while under control
- Can be forced to do terrible things
💪 Resistance
Harry was able to resist the Imperius Curse due to his strong willpower:
- Barty Crouch Jr. (as Moody) taught Harry to fight it
- Felt like a voice telling him to resist
- Completely threw off the curse eventually
- Very few wizards can resist it
⚖️ Legal Defense
After Voldemort's first fall, many Death Eaters claimed they were under the Imperius Curse:
- Lucius Malfoy used this excuse
- Most were lying to avoid Azkaban
- Some genuinely were controlled (like Pius Thicknesse)
- Difficult to prove either way
