👁️ Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody
Alastor Moody, known as "Mad-Eye," was one of the most famous Aurors in wizarding history and a founding member of the Order of the Phoenix.
👁️ Physical Appearance
Moody's appearance reflected his dangerous career:
- Heavily scarred face from numerous battles
- Missing part of his nose
- Wooden leg to replace one lost in combat
- Most notably, a magical eye that could see through objects, walls, and Invisibility Cloaks
🕵️ Career as an Auror
Moody was legendary in the Auror office. He filled half the cells in Azkaban during his career, always capturing his targets alive if possible. His paranoia and constant vigilance kept him alive through countless dangerous situations.
🎓 The Impersonation
In what was meant to be his first year teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, Moody was captured by Barty Crouch Jr. and imprisoned in his own magical trunk. Crouch impersonated Moody for the entire school year using Polyjuice Potion, fooling even Dumbledore.
The real Moody was eventually rescued, but the experience was traumatic. Despite this, he retained his fighting spirit.
🔍 Constant Vigilance
Moody's catchphrase "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" reflected his philosophy. His paranoia wasn't madness - it was survival instinct honed through decades of fighting Dark wizards. He:

Moody was a founding member of the original Order and immediately rejoined when Voldemort returned. He participated in numerous missions and battles, using his experience to train younger members.
💀 Death
During the Battle of the Seven Potters, Moody was killed by Voldemort himself. He died protecting Harry Potter, staying true to his mission until the end. His body was never recovered, and his magical eye was later found mounted on Dolores Umbridge's office door at the Ministry - a fate Harry found particularly disrespectful.
